Clean water.
Zero impact.
For every community.

sea + sun = pure water, zero impact.

We are building the first solar-powered desalination platform for water-stressed communities across Mexico and Latin America. Starting in Loreto, where the sea is pristine, the sun is abundant, and clean water is long overdue.

The promise

A UNESCO biosphere. A water crisis. A perfect starting point.

300+ days of sunshine

Baja California Sur is one of the sunniest regions on earth. Solar-powered desalination thrives here in a way it simply cannot in most places. The energy is free, abundant, and arrives every single day.

Infinite ocean source

Loreto sits directly on the Sea of Cortez. The raw material for clean water is literally on the doorstep of every community we aim to serve. Jacques Cousteau called it the aquarium of the world.

UNESCO protected ecosystem

The Sea of Cortez demands the highest environmental standards. Our technology criteria are built around protecting it — not compromising it. Zero impact is not aspirational here. It is required.

Are you an investor, partner, or community leader who believes clean water should be a right, not a luxury?

We are in the early stages of building something that matters. If our mission resonates with yours, we would genuinely love to hear from you.

Built on a belief.
Driven by necessity.

marH₂O was not born in a laboratory or a boardroom. It was born from a simple and urgent observation. Latin America is facing a water crisis that is growing faster than the solutions being offered to address it. Someone needed to start building something different. This is that attempt.

A clear starting point.

"I am not a water engineer. I am someone who looked at Latin America's water future and decided that was not good enough."

My background is in business and entrepreneurship. I have spent my career building things, understanding markets, and finding the right people to solve problems worth solving. Water scarcity across Mexico and Latin America is one of those problems. Not someday. Now.

What drew me to Loreto specifically was the extraordinary alignment of conditions. A pristine UNESCO-protected biosphere sitting directly on the Sea of Cortez. More than 300 days of sunshine every year. A resilient community that deserves better than water trucks and plastic bottles. And a new generation of solar-powered desalination technology that makes zero environmental impact not just possible but achievable.

I do not pretend to have all the answers. What I have is a clear vision, a serious commitment, and the humility to know that the right team will make this real in a way that no single person ever could. I am here to build that team and that company from the ground up.

We are at the beginning. That is exactly why this is the right moment to be part of it.

The most important work in any company happens before most people show up. We are looking for a small number of exceptional people who want to help shape what marH₂O becomes — people who bring deep expertise and a genuine belief that water security and environmental stewardship are not competing goals.

Co-founder priority

Water Technology Specialist

Someone who understands desalination, solar thermal systems, and water infrastructure at a technical level. Ideally based in or deeply connected to Baja California Sur. Your expertise shapes the feasibility study and every technology decision that follows.

People

Communities come first. Always.

Planet

The ocean is not a resource. It is a responsibility.

Progress

Solutions that actually get built and actually work.

Purpose

This is not just a business. It is a calling.

The right people will help shape what this becomes.

We are not posting job listings. We are looking for founding team members who believe in this mission as much as we do.

The right technology
for the right place.
At zero cost to the planet.

Loreto is not just any location. It is a UNESCO-protected biosphere, one of the most ecologically significant marine environments on earth. The technology we deploy here must meet an extraordinary standard. We are not looking for the least harmful option. We are looking for a genuinely regenerative one.

Conventional desalination was never built for a place like this.

Traditional reverse osmosis desalination plants consume enormous amounts of grid electricity, rely on toxic chemical pre-treatment, and discharge highly concentrated brine into the ocean. In most locations that trade-off is accepted. In the Sea of Cortez — which Jacques Cousteau called the aquarium of the world — it is simply not acceptable.

The promise

We are seeking a technology partner who shares our commitment to the planet as deeply as our commitment to the communities we serve.

Ten non-negotiable specifications for our technology partner

These are the minimum viable standards for operating responsibly inside a UNESCO-protected biosphere. We are actively evaluating partners whose systems meet every one of these requirements.

01
Fully solar powered
Zero reliance on fossil fuels or the grid. Energy must come entirely from renewable sources, operating 24 hours a day.
Target: 60%+ total solar energy conversion efficiency
02
Operational continuity
Must operate 24/7 without grid dependency. Excess energy stored in electrical battery and thermal storage systems.
Target: Full off-grid, 24/7 operation
03
Distillation process
Solar thermal multi-effect distillation preferred over membrane-based RO. No membranes means no chemical pre-treatment.
Target: Multi-effect distillation MED or MED-MVC
04
Production capacity
Modular unit capacity scalable to meet phased demand growth without requiring full plant overhaul.
Target: 40m³ per hour per module, infinitely scalable
05
Zero toxic chemicals
No chemical pre-treatment. No chemical dosing during operation. The entire process must be free of harmful agents.
Target: Zero toxic chemicals, full process
06
Ocean safe brine management
Low concentration, ambient temperature brine as minimum standard. Zero liquid discharge capability strongly preferred.
Target: ZLD capability or ocean-safe low salinity discharge
07
Water quality output
Ultrapure potable water meeting WHO and Mexican NOM drinking water standards. Built-in remineralisation capability.
Target: Ultrapure with remineralisation to WHO standards
08
Levelized cost of water
Must be commercially viable for municipal water tariff structures in BCS. Competitive with conventional alternatives.
Target: At or below USD $1 per cubic metre
09
System lifespan
Long operational lifespan with low ongoing maintenance. No consumables like membranes that require regular replacement.
Target: 20+ year lifespan, minimal consumables
10
Proven and deployable
Real-world operational experience in climatically comparable environments. A technology partner, not just a provider.
Target: Operational references in comparable settings

Three things we will not compromise on. Ever.

Ocean safety

The Sea of Cortez is a living, irreplaceable ecosystem. No discharge that harms it will ever be acceptable under the marH₂O name.

Renewable energy only

Every litre of water we produce must be powered by the sun. No fossil fuel dependency at any point in the process.

Community-first pricing

Clean water must be affordable for the communities we serve. Commercial viability and community access are not competing goals here.

Why the conditions in Loreto make this technology not just possible but exceptional.

Baja California Sur receives some of the highest solar irradiance levels anywhere in the world. A solar thermal desalination system deployed here operates at or near maximum theoretical efficiency for the majority of the year. Combined with direct coastal access to the Sea of Cortez and a clear and urgent community water need, Loreto represents one of the most compelling deployment environments for next-generation solar desalination technology anywhere in Latin America.

Technology partner invitation

If your technology meets this standard, Loreto is waiting for you.

We are conducting an active technology partner evaluation as part of our investment-grade feasibility study. We are looking for a company whose values, technology, and vision align with everything described on this page. Not just a vendor relationship. A genuine partnership built around a shared mission.
